‘Tis the Season

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, I sang that as I typed. Our bellies are filled with turkey and gravy; and our hearts are filled with thankfulness, joy and excitement. Even in adulthood I still find Christmas a magical time of year. My lights and tree are always up the day after Thanksgiving. When night falls and the lights illuminate my home I feel like a child again with an instant smile on my face.

Tradition runs deep in my family. Ever since I can remember we would drive around neighborhoods together and look at all the spectacular light displays. The Texas Hill Country is a wonderful place to experience the lights of Christmas. The most recent tradition is about 8 years old. I can remember the first time my husband (then fiance) took me to Windcrest for the annual Windcrest Light-Up, it was/is simply amazing and I can’t recommend enough a visit for you and your family! There is also the Hill Country Regional Christmas Lighting Trail with 11 communities participating. All small hill country towns light themselves up in Christmas glory. This year we plan on also doing Santa’s Ranch in New Braunfels and I couldn’t be more excited!
